About Robinson Road
Built beside a salmon-bearing stream on a small building envelope, the natural materials featured in this elegant home abound. From the creative use of old brick and local stone in the posts and chimney, to fir tongue and groove, and decorative shingling – the eye of an artist is everywhere. The in-floor heat, passive solar situation, large wood windows and glassed verandas contribute to the efficient use of energy in the home. The outside decks and inside floors are concrete though appear to be slate. All cabinets, doors, built-ins and millwork were built in the contractor’s workshop and the island was made from a maple felled on the property. The master suite is completely private with a separate entrance and contributes to the house feeling much larger than its 1,500 square feet; a warm, comfortable home that feels as good as it looks.
